The theme of today’s post was going to be another, but I have seen some comments in the media, making suggestions about how I regained my figure in such a short time, and I am concerned about the consequences that misinformation could have on the health of people who want to do the same.
The “secrets” of my recovery are simple:
First, for many years I have been working out very intensely, so my muscles are well developed. Because the body has a “memory”, though during pregnancy I had lowered the intensity of exercise and right now I don’t do it at all for obvious reasons, the muscles have helped to recover more easily the body I had before. As you see in these pictures I was really fit before I got pregnant and that’s the best you can do . If you are thinking to get pregnant soon, take the time to train and exercise as much as you can, I assure you that your body will appreciate it and also you will see how your recovery will be faster.
Second, I am nursing two babies, which supposedly uses more than 1,000 calories daily. It also helps that hormones act on the uterus that return it to its original size faster.
Third, the famous juices are NOT a diet, they are a good supplement to a balanced diet and are in no way a substitute. Exactly the opposite, some of the smoothies I make are very high-energy, precisely to balance the loss of calories from breastfeeding. Note that for breastfeeding two babies I need to eat more than 2000 calories a day.
As you may imagine, it is impossible to do any kind of diet but rather on the contrary, I have to eat more than usual if I want to have enough milk for both. That is, if all the “extra” calories are healthy and there’s no stuffing myself with buns, pizza or sausage and chips. What I eat are calorie-rich foods like coconut, avocado, almond cream, bananas, dried fruit, oats for breakfast and a few sweets without overdoing it, of course.
Here’s an example of one of our dinners at home, I usually take some proteins,both meat and fish, plenty of vegetables and salads and some purees, like this cauliflower one or any kind of carbohydrates. It is a healthy and very complete dinner.
So, dear Confidantes, do not let yourselves be persuaded wrongly and especially do not believe in complexes or obsessions because, apart from the above, genetics also plays an important role. That’s why Scarlett Johansson will never have the body of Gisele Bundchen, but both are stunning.
My advice is to eat healthy, exercise a lot and enjoy life to the fullest .
